Nokia to Offer Google in Cell Phones

7:48 am

I guess this only means more traffic from mobile phones browsers and more potential customers :)

“HELSINKI – Finnish mobile operator Nokia will incorporate Google’s market-leading search engine in its handsets, with plans to roll out service for more than 100 countries and in 40 languages.

The use of Google to power the Nokia Search application will be limited to higher-end models in select markets initially, with availability in broader markets and more handsets planned for the future.

According to Nokia, its Search function is available with one click on the standby screen, and enables users to act on search results using device assets such as maps, messaging or the browser with just one click.

“Providing choices for our consumers is an important driver in Nokia’s Internet service strategy,” Ilkka Raiskinen, Nokia’s vice-president of software and services, said. “This integration allows our consumers the ability to use the innovative search technologies, which have made Google almost synonymous with Internet search.”"

5:54 am

It seems that big problem of adult online industry, saturation with free porn, is coming to adult mobile industry soon…

“MIAMI, Fla. — Industry attorney and XBIZ columinist Greg Piccionelli was quoted, along with ClubJenna president Jay Grdina, in a Reuters article about the future of adult mobile content.

Both men agreed that free adult content on mobile devices will become available in the U.S., despite concerns over under-aged users and potential for piracy.”

“YouTube is planning to expand its reach to 100 million “smart” phones, offering a variety of content similar to what is currently on the video hosting site.

Google is currently in development of a new mobile phone system that will support any type of mobile software, while other carriers like Verizon Wireless said that they will allow access to their networks from a variety of devices and software later this year, as well as Sprint Nextel, who will launch a new wireless Web service in 2008 that will be offered on several different mobile devices.”
